...despite being not the hugest sports fan, i love my jayhawks... and tomorrow there's this huge game happening... it's the 267th time and the last time that KU and Mizzou will play... i honestly cannot say that i'm sad that this rivalry will not continue... going to KU we had two huge rivals - K-State (Go Wildcats!) and Mizzou (Go Tigers!?)... but the rivalries were so very very different.
...K-State games were a blast... I loved the spirit and the good-natured banter between the teams... it was fun to be on intown/on campus/at the stadium during these match ups... but things are so different with Mizzou... it's downright mean half the time, and i will never foget my freshman year when our band was injured by glass bottles thrown at them from a few tiger fans... it just gets ugly so fast with them, and i realize that maybe this stems back for historic reasons (slavery vs freedom and all that jazz?)... but i'm just not a competitive enough person to join in the athletic rivalry...
so... my opinion, for what it's worth - C'est le vie! i'll be waving the wheat on saturday at 3... Rock Chalk!

I have mixed feelings. I'm sad that the rivaly will end because I think it's one of college sports greatest... but i'm grateful for the peace that it will bring to my home. :)
yes... i am looking forward to the peace in my family too. it's rough living in tiger country.
I'm sad that the rivalry will end just because I am a Missourian and that's usually what you hear a lot about. I wasn't allowed to go to Mizzou (not that I wanted to really) because my dad graduated from Rolla and that was a big rivalry as well. So while I'll cheer for whomever wins it was fun while it lasted!!
